Hello! It’s been long since I updated my tumblr as my trip came to an end.
As we are entering the holiday season, I’m pretty sure there’s alot of you out there that are travelling to Korea for holiday. YAY. Anyway. I thought I’d share my list of places to visit and places to eat that I prepared when I went to Korea (I’m so kind ha). Recommendations and directions are from other bloggers and websites. The places listed below are based purely in Seoul. Hope you enjoy your trip to Korea.

Direction: Gyeongbokgung Station, Line 3, Exit 5
2. Tosokchon Ginseng Chicken Soup 토속촌삼계탕
Direction: Line 3, Gyeongbokgung Station, exit 2. Walk 120 meter towards Hyoja-dong direction, and make a left at GS25. (or) Go 200m north towards Seoul Tongui-dong Post Office (서울통의동 우체국).Turn left onto Jihamun-ro 5-gil and go straight for 10m.
3. Cheonggyecheon Stream *christmas lights*
Direction: Line 5. Follow directions to Cheonggyecheon
4. Bukchon Kalguksu북촌칼국수
Direction: Anguk Station, exit 2, walk straight (6 min) until you see the palace walls across the street and a pagoda-like structure in the middle of the road Turn right and you will see Hank’s bookstore on your right. Walk straight until first big intersection. Take a right on this street and you will see the restaurant on your left. (Or) Exit Gyeongbukgong and walk straight. If you are looking straight at the palace turn right and you will see the giant pagoda-like structure straight ahead. Then cross the street where you will see Hank’s Bookstore ahead and turn left.
5. Bukchon Hanol Village
Direction: subway line 3 to Anguk Station and take Exit 3
6. DMZ- Demilitarized Zone
Direction: Join a Tour
7. Lotte World
Direction: line 2 to Jamsil follow directions to Lotte World
8. Han River
9. Sinsa-dong Garosugil Street
(i) Sadong Myunok 사동면옥
Address: Insadong 5-gil Insadong
Direction: Line 3 to Anguk, Exit 6
Specialty: Mandu Jeongol, Seafood pancake
(i) Cham Sae Bangatgan, 참새방앗간
Address: 164-7, Mapo-gu, Seoul Donggyo
Direction: Hongdae station, exit 8, Hongdae Palm Springs alley straight, turn right at Family Mart within approximately 50m.
Specialty: DakDoriTang (닭도리탕), Modeumjeon (모듬전)
(ii) Hello Kitty Café
Direction: Line 2 to Hongik Station. Exit 5 and walk towards the Hongik Univ. Station Intersection. You’ll see the Chunggiwa Gas Station with its unique Korean architectural roof on the opposite corner. Turn left at this main intersection. Walk three streets until you see a Tony Moly Skin Care and go right on that street. Then follow the directions above and look for the graffiti cat.
12. Namdaemun Market
Direction: line 4 to Hoehyeon Station and leave exits 5, 6 or 7
13. Noryangjin Fish Market
Direction: Subway Line 1, Noryangjin Station, exit 1.
14. N Seoul Tower
Direction: Line 4 to Myeongdong exit 1 follow signs up the hill towards the cable car or walk (30-40 min)
Direction: Line 1 or 4 to Seoul Station, Exit 2
(ii) Myeong Dong Gyoza (명동교자)
Address: Myeongdong 2(i)-ga 33-4, Jung-gu
Direction: Myeongdong Station (Subway Line 4), Exit 8.Turn left onto the first alleyway.Go straight for 170m to arrive at Myeongdong Gyoja.(Myeongdong Gyoja is located behind M-Plaza)
Specialty: 칼국수(knife cut noodles), 만두 (Mandoo)
Address: 45-3, 1-ga, Myeong-dong, Chung-gu, Seoul
17. Gangnam Myun Oak (강남면옥)
Address: 588-9 Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul
Direction: Line 3 to Apgujeong Station, Exit 3 to the intersection in front of out-ansebyeongwon jjuuk-foot alley, turn left at the last to come down a bit motmichyeoseo jjuuk - Once past the right side is located in a Crossroad.)
Specialties: Galbijim, mandu, naengmyun
(i) Dongdaemun Market
Direction: line 1 to Dongdaemun
Direction: Line 2, exit 14 :walk straight out of exit towards Dongdaemun
Line 4 and Line 5 : Exit 14 of Line 2 (the lines are linked within station)
Direction: Dongdaemun Station Line 4, Exit 8
(iv) CoeX Mall
Direction: Samseong Station, Line 2, Exits 5 and 6.
19. Yeolbong Jjimdak 열봉찜닭 – Se7en’s Chicken Stew Restaura
Direction: Hongdae Outlet
Get off at Hongik University Station (Seoul Subway Line 2), Exit 9. You will see KFC, go straight until second intersection. Turn right until you see a big street ( you will see Starbucks and Tourist Information Center), cross the street and go straight until an intersection and you will see a karaoke place (Su Noraebang) at the corner. Yeolbong Chicken Restaurant is beside it.
Direction: Gangnam Station (Line 2) , exit 7.
20. Gwangjang Market
(i) Jeon Alley
Direction: Take subway line 1 to Jongno 5(o)-ga Station and go out exit 9. Gwangjang Market’s main entrance will be right in front of you. Jeon Alley starts right at the entrance to the market.
Specialty: mungbean pancakes (bindaetteok, 빈대떡)
(ii) Mayak Gimbap Alley
Direction: Take subway line 1 to Jongno 5(o)-ga Station and go out exit 11. Walk towards Jongno 4-ga Rotary, going around the outside of Gwangjang Market, and enter the market through the second west gate (광장시장 서2문). You should see a sign for Mayak Gimbap Alley
Direction: Gangnam Station (Seoul Subway Line 2 or Sinbundang Line), Exit 5 or 10.
Take bus 5002 to Everland. (Travel time: 50 min)
As you can tell, I’m not so much into the museum/history kind of tour. haha. I hope this list can be somewhat useful to some people. I did venture out of the list and found alot of nice places to go and eat. ENJOY KOREA!
